Local fairs are still a mainstay in rural America and bring people to town to see exhibits, visit with neighbors and enjoy the activity associated with the gathering of a community.  

Each year the Virginia Department of Forestry and the USDA FS Lee  District meet and great visitors from their log cabin exhibit for the purpose of talking about conservation and answering questions.  The history of the CCC fits right into the message for suggesting the use of sound conservation practices.

Supporting the CCC fundraiser CCC family enjoys the exhibit Virginia DoF Exhibit Area Forester, Joe Lehnen, visits with guests Smokey spreads the word about forest fires. Smokey gets around!
