Up National Public Lands Day The Corps Network

As America continues to recognize the need to be more sensitive to conservation issues, organizations come together to help raise the awareness of our nation's natural resources.  The many facets of natural resource management are broad and affect every citizen.  Partnerships help to shoulder the responsibility of caring for the land and projects once developed by the CCC.

CCC Legacy is fortunate to have national partners that believe in preserving the heritage, spirit, and projects of the Civilian Conservation Corps.

The Corps Network represents 143 Service and Conservation Corps in the nation.  These Corps annually enroll more than 29,000 young people.  Many of these Corps look at the CCC as their parent organization and perform many tasks that renew land once developed by their depression era counterparts.

National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest volunteer effort to care for public land. Begun in 1994, with 700 volunteers the total number of volunteers in 2008 was 120,000.   National Public Lands Day keeps the promise of the Civilian Conservation Corps, to preserve and protect America's natural heritage.
