 CCC Legacy Journal:  Vol. 33 Issue 4,  July-August 2009

New Life Member Fred Felson

I joined the CCC in April 1934.  My hometown then was Pembina, ND.  Signed up to join the CCC at the country courthouse in Cavalier, ND, then to Grand Forks for the physical exam and sent to Fort Lincoln, ND which was near Bismarck, ND.  After basics at the Army Camp, I was assigned to Company 764, Wishek, ND, May 1934 to Sept. 1934.  We were taken to Park Rapids, MN and assigned a camp in Itasca State Park for the winter Sept. 1934 to May of 1935 and then sent back to Larimore, ND for the summer from May 1935 to July 1935.  Discharged from there in July 1935 and served as a first-aid man.
