The 75th Anniversary 2008 national annual reunion will be held at Prince William Forest Park, Triangle, VA, on September 25 - 27, 2008.  

Potomac Chapter #13 and Prince William Forest Park, a national park, will serve  as hosts for the 75th Anniversary 2008 annual alumni reunion on September 25 through 28.  Scheduled on the same weekend as National Public Lands Day (NPLD), September 27th, this event will be the signature event for the 2008 NPLD and will honor alumni during this special year of celebration.

September will be upon us quickly, please register.  Cut-off for reduced hotel rates is August 25 so please make your hotel reservations before that day or you will be paying the regular rate which is considerably greater than the negotiated rate.

Schedule 

September 25 - Thursday

    3:00 - 5:00    Registration 

    5:00 - 7:00    Social time and visiting - Dinner on your own

    7:00  - 8:00    Workshop "Looking Toward the future of CCC Legacy"

September 26 - Friday

    9:30       1:30    Depart for downtown tours at the FDR and WWII Memorials.  Box Lunch Other activities still being planned.    

                  Evening - at the Holiday Inn conference Room 

   7:00    8:00        History of the Prince William National Forest Park - Chief Interpreter, Laura Cohen

September 27 - Saturday - National Public Lands Day (NPLD) Learn more about NPLD - http://www.publiclandsday.org/ 

    9:00     10:00    The kickoff for NPLD events at Prince William Forest Park

    10:00    12:00    Annual Membership Meeting - Cabin Camp #3 - Dining Hall built by the CCC

    12:00     1:30    NPLD Lunch at Prince William Forest Park CCC - Dining Hall

    1:30       3:00    Tour of the National Park and buildings as time permits

    3:00       5:30    Free time

    5:30       9:00    Load Buses and return the Prince William Forest Park  - Dinner in the OSS Theater 

Program:  NPLD Speaker, National Park Dignitary, Entertainment:  Delmas Wood, FDR living, history.   Enjoyment and education in a "New Deal" for the 2008 Reunion.  

September, 28 - Sunday

                        Depart for home


Registration Deadline - September 5, 2008

Registration:  $120 (entire event)- local residents who want to participate in all of the events must pay the entire registration fee. 

Saturday Registration only:  $50 - Includes two meals 

Makes checks payable to Potomac Chapter #13 and mail to 110 Palmyra Road , Edinburg , VA   22824


 Hotel:  Attendees are responsible for their own registration.

Negotiated room rate:  $119 – To get this rate, make your reservations before August 25. 

A block of 50 rooms has been reserved.  Reservations made after the 25th will be accepted based on occupancy and rate availability. 


Airport and Shuttle:  

It is recommended that attendees fly into Reagan National Airport, Washington.  This airport is only about 30 miles from the hotel and Prince William National Park and shuttle service is available.   

A company called Super Shuttle provides area service.  Shuttle reservations are not necessary but can be made.  800-622-2089 .  For on-line information go to www.supershuttle.com and choose the Locations tab and Washington, DC.  

Shuttle rate facts:  

  • The rate is $56 for the first person and $10 for each following person.  

  • Shuttles hold up to seven people.  

  • Rates can be greatly reduced by joining together to share the ride.  

  • The National Park cannot provide shuttle service to attendees

  • The registration fee is not enough for the organization to absorb the cost of shuttle fees
