National Reunion

Rapid City, South Dakota

October 5 - 9, 2005

Annual Reunion is the highlight of yearly NACCCA activities

Attendees of the 2005 CCC reunion were welcomed by an early Great Plains snow that blanketed the Black Hills area.  The weather was the main topic of discussion and a real "ice breaker" when it came to starting a new conversation.

Peggy Sanders, South Dakota author, was the event coordinator.   Her book entitled "Civilian Conservation Corps In and Around the Black Hills", is a pictorial guide to the CCC projects accomplished in the area.

Activities included tours, informal social timeinformative speakers, and the annual membership meeting and dinner.  Like many places in America, the historical legacy of the Black Hills area is threaded through overlapping eras of our Nation's story.  The legacy of the CCC is evident nearly everywhere and holds a prominent place in the building and development of South Dakota's unique natural resource landmarks.

Next year the Annual Reunion will be hosted by the the Dallas Parks and Recreation Department, Dallas, TX.
